ASSOCIATION OF POINCIANA VILLAGES
The Association of Poinciana Villages
celebrated the holiday season with a
community-wide Winter Fun Parade
and Festival on Saturday, December
13. This free holiday tradition had
lots of activities for everyone including
appearances by Santa, Mrs. Claus and
their elves as well as bounce houses,
face painting and a photo booth. There
were also holiday treats, hot chocolate
and five delicious food vendors to
satisfy culinary cravings along
with numerous educational and
informational exhibitors.
The parade featured 59 colorful
floats and cash prizes were
awarded to the best floats. Best
Overall Float went to Studio 5-6-
7-8 who received $500, Runner
Up for Best Float went to living
Waters who received $300
and Best Marching Group went
to Acclaim Academy who received
$200. All of the floats and parade
participants delivered festive, holiday
greetings to the more than 2,000
people lining the Cypress Parkway
parade route.
Musical entertainment at the Festival
included Downtown Disney band La
Calle, St. Johns Steel Orchestra and
high school musical performances.
Liberty High School won the
“Battle of the Bands” competition
along with $500.
“What a wonderful way
to welcome in the holiday
season,” said Mark Maldonado,
Community Association Manager
for Association of Poinciana
Villages. “It was a beautiful day
of family fun and togetherness
for everyone in the Association of
Poinciana Villages.”
