Grand Opening of
Vance Harmon Park
Phase 1 Announced
W
e are so excited to announce that the completion of Phase 1 is only days away.
The grand opening and ribbon cutting celebration of the Mary Jane Arrington
Gym and Aquatic Center at Vance Harmon Park will be held on May 13, 2017 starting
at 11:00
The pool holds 285,000 gallons of water and offers 25-meter swim lanes, 12-foot
diving wells, two diving boards and handicap lifts. This means our local high school
swim teams will soon be able to practice and hold meets here. The community center,
which boasts16-thousand square feet of space, will provide restrooms and a locker
room for those using the pool as well as a gym, meeting rooms and a warming kitchen.
Outside features include a fitness trail around the pond, a multi-use lawn for sports and
outdoor activities, a movie lawn and an outdoor pavilion.
In order to make the use of this gorgeous new facility as easy as possible, we are
also launching our new EZ Facility technology. This electronic system offers increased
efficiency and monitoring of all APV facilities which means resources can be distributed
appropriately and the community can be better serviced according to residents’ needs.
Some innovative features of this technology package include:
Digitally scanning members into different facilities
Creating a universal booking system so APV can correctly assess usage of
rooms, parks and facilities
Residents can purchase memberships remotely through an online store before
entering the property
This means that instead of applications being processed face to face through a manual
filing system, transactions can now be processed online or from a mobile device which
will provide faster and easier access to the facilities residents want to use.
The planning of the renovation of Vance Harmon Park began in 2013 and the
Association of Poinciana Villages is excited to bring all these new facilities to residents!
Phase 2 of the project, which includes renovations to the football and softball fields, a
dog park and amphitheater, is expected to be completed within the next year.
