FARM SHARE DONATES FOOD
On October 17, 2014, Farm Share, a Florida non-profit
organization that recovers food from farms, wholesalers
and other groups, whose purpose is to alleviate hunger,
came to Poinciana. Approximately 1,000 financially
stressed families received vegetables and fruits for a
healthy diet. Representative Mike La Rosa, District 42 was
in attendance and helped with the distribution.
This is a very noble gesture by all of the people who
make such a contribution to those that have fallen upon
hard times. The grateful faces of those who received this food contribution was a
reflection of what this food distribution meant for them.
